Collision between 2 big rigs inflicts grave damage
On Sept. 19, one man died and three people suffered injuries in a Northern California accident involving two tractor-trailers, according to officials. The accident reportedly occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Highway 299 in Round Mountain.
California accident results in teen's death
A 26-year-old man allegedly caused a three-car crash in Manteca on Sep. 13, resulting in the critical injury of a 45-year-old woman and the death of her granddaughter. The vehicles were traveling on Highway 120 near Main Street when the man's Dodge Caravan reportedly rear-ended a Mercury Grand Marquis which then struck a Lexus. According to California Highway Patrol, the Dodge driver was traveling at an unsafe speed as surrounding traffic was slowing down.
Off-duty officer killed in motor-vehicle accident
On Sept. 6 around 4:30 p.m., an off-duty officer with the Los Angeles Police Department was killed while riding his Yamaha R6 motorcycle in Torrance. He was the seventh LAPD officer to have died in 2014.
California DUI crash kills 2, injures 1
A man reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol faces charges for vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI after a crash in Bakersfield. The two-vehicle accident killed two people and injured one person on Aug. 30.
3 dead after California car crash
An accident involving multiple vehicles occurred at the intersection of Floral and Elm in Caruthers on August 28. California Highway Patrol stated the chain-reaction crash started when a blue box truck failed to stop at a stop sign. The truck hit a minivan and sent it spinning into a Chevrolet Avalanche. The Avalanche then crashed into a Nissan Cube. The series of impacts left a considerable amount of debris in the road.
