California crash leaves 1 dead, 2 in critical condition

Around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Somerset Boulevard, a five-car collision left one person dead and two critically injured. The accident is thought to be the result of street racing. Two Chevrolet trucks were traveling northbound on Orange Avenue. One cleared the intersection, but the second collided with a 2004 Ford pickup truck.

One person in the Ford truck died after being transported to the hospital. Five other people were taken to the hospital, two of them in critical condition.

The driver of the Chevrolet involved in the crash was taken into custody. The other Chevrolet pickup, a black two-door, left the scene and is being sought by local authorities.
