Murrieta Brain Injuries Lawyers

Effective Legal Representation When You Need It Most

At Gibbs & Fuerst, LLP, we are committed and passionate about protecting the rights of people who have suffered catastrophic, life-changing injuries through no fault of their own. We practice in Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties and have handled brain injury cases involving construction accidents, bike accidents, car accidents and other types of accidents as well.

Brain injuries aren't immediately apparent. If there has been an accident and you are concerned that you or a family member may have suffered a brain injury, you can rely on our experience to help you answer that question and if necessary, to pursue legal action against the negligent party.

Information About Brain Injuries

One of the biggest misconceptions about brain injuries is that your head actually has to hit something (or be hit by something) for you to suffer a brain injury. This is absolutely not true. One of the most common types of brain injuries is a diffuse axonal injury. This type of injury can occur when forward momentum is suddenly stopped or the head is jarred violently back and forth. This causes the brain to slam the inside of the skull and become damaged, even though the head itself never sustained an actual impact with anything.

Closed head injuries can also produce a broader range of effects than most people think. In so-called "mild" cases, victims might experience subtle behavioral changes, mood disorders, cognitive difficulties and memory problems. In the most severe cases, victims may require indefinite, round-the-clock medical care.

Our attorneys represent individuals suffering from:

  • Traumatic brain injuries (TBI)
  • Recurrent TBI injuries
  • Locked-In Syndrome
  • Hypoxic brain damage
  • Anoxic brain damage
  • Diffuse axonal injuries (similar to Shaken Baby Syndrome)
  • Coup and contrecoup injuries
